It’s Official!

// June 18th, 2009 // Academic

I will be going to Cornell next year! We got a nice financial aid package (appealing for more due to recent changes in my parents’ employment) but it’s decided! I’m super excited :D Thanks for all of your well-wishing.

Right now I’m trying to find cost-effective ways to get to Ithaca, New York from Vancouver, Canada. After a lot of searching, the best we came up with was to drive down to Seattle, fly to Philadelphia, fly to Newark, then fly to the Ithaca airport. Oh my goodness! I guess small towns and their tiny airports do have drawbacks. But what the heck, I’ll be able to say I’ve been to half a dozen US cities now.

I will keep you guys updated on this little ol’ journey of mine.

    Congratualtions!!!!!!!! That’s so amazing.

Although I am sad you’ll never be coming to Berkeley to hang out with me :(

YAY! This is wonderful, Crystal! I’m so happy for you. :) I’m glad you got a good financial package - and hopefully they give you more. Expenses can be so ridiculous.

Whew, that sounds like a long trip. I didn’t know there was even an airport in Ithaca. It’s a pretty small place. When I got off the plane after Thanksgiving break, a girl flew into Syracuse and took a cab to Ithaca. Hopefully you will have a smooth journey… and not encounter too many delays. -has only been delayed at Philly too many times-

Hehe, and we’ll be so close geographically, what a strange thought! -stalks- ;)

:O! That’s awesome! Your excitement is making me excited too! Well, getting there seems a bit complicated, but it can always be an adventure! :D

Congratulations!! Cornell is awesome; I wanted to go there at one point when I was naive enough to think I could get into an Ivy League.

I’m going to school in NY too. But I’m going to SUNY Stony Brook. :P Lol, enjoy the traveling.

Hi there, wow I haven’t been here in awhile :) And what news you’ve had in the meantime! I mean, holy cow, CORNELL - an IVY! That’s very impressive, congratulations!

Pretty ironic because last night my dad and I were talking, and about how it would be tricky getting to Ithaca to tour Cornell because direct transportation there… kind of doesn’t exist. (from where I am in Ontario, anyway)

I actually sent you a message through that contact form on the tab above, hope it worked?

    :)

  14. Noel says:

Congratulations! Many of my classmates are attending Cornell (the ones that didn’t choose UC Berkeley, ha) next year…I’m so excited for all of you!

  15. Joann says:

Congratulations! Starting university will be exciting and I hope you figure out the route to your destination in the best possible way, though, why not just fly direct? Though expenses are one thing, sometimes time and ease is more important.

I’ve never been to america before, but I really want to go. I’m so jealous that you’ve visited so many places in america. A flight to america can be pretty expensive, but I really wish I could go there on holiday some time.
