A few days ago I posted the school colours of some of the universities I applied to. I’ve got quite a few guessers (some very wild ones)!

Regina and Wednesday got UBC XD

Meg gussed Stanford and Princeton correctly.

Arielle got Columbia and UCLA right (tbh I had to double check the blues and oranges for the UCs as well). She just got accepted into NYU so I was shocked she didn’t get the White & Purple

Marie took a leap of faith using other people’s guesses and got Columbia, Princeton, Stanford, and a place in my sidebar and RSS!

The answers are posted below.

Yes yes, some very big names up there. But really, the one I’m counting on is UBC, and a big fat scholarship from them as well. $40 000 a year for those elite US private schools, seriously! It’d be nice if NYU sent me something though, seems like everyone else have been getting letters. *Prays*

March seems like the month of huge contests around the blogosphere. The main incentives are pretty much 1) free advertising 2) free layout 3) entrecard credits 4) cash. I won #1 and #3 and Mindblogger, thank you!

If anyone is interested, I’m also selling 6000 Entrecard Credits for $19.99 here. It’s the cheapest out of all the ones listed right now, so start bidding!

Lastly, don’t click here. Just don’t. Okay now do it. Please and thank you.

If only I knew ANYTHING about American/Canadian colleges! ;)

I must say, I never knew that there were specific colours for specific schools…makes me wonder what mine are.

  2. Meg says:

OH MY GOD. I should’ve gotten UCLA and Berkeley because I’ve been to both colleges, and I should’ve gotten Columbia/Cornell/NYU because I’ve received mail from all of them. Don’t you hate when things become obvious after you see the answers? :P

  3. IB Student says:

xD These universities really need to be more creative with their colours.

Blue and Yellow is overdone, imo. =O

  4. Momo says:

What courses are you applying to?

lol, I won’t even know the colors of British universities…

  5. Arielle says:

$40,000 a year? Hehe. Try more like $50,000.

  6. Crystal says:

    @ Meg - Yesss… shame on you!

@ IB Student - I know eh? At least they could go for Harry Potter colours!

@ Momo - Depending on the school, it’s either business/economics or international relations.

@ Arielle - I heard NYU costs are through the roof, yikes, good luck though!

Believe me, once you’re at school, you’ll forget all the hell the application and decision process was. I know it’s hard to imagine, but you will.

My university has an awesome colour - PURPLE! They change the logo colours for each course and department as well - the art and design department is a rainbow :D Clearly we are awesome.

I hope you get a letter from one of your chosen universities. Not sure how it works in America but it sounds a little daunting.

  9. Sarai says:

Oh god, I wouldn’t have gotten any of those.

  10. Erin says:

I think the only ones I would’ve known are Princeton and Cornell. Maybe NYU if I thought hard enough; they sent me lots of mailings in the past…

Hah! $40,000/year in just tuition for some of those schools. Syracuse is going at $32,000/year for tuition and $48,000 for total cost. Woosh. Wherever you go, I hope you get a good scholarship! Those are essential nowadays.

  11. IB Student says:

XD HP colours. That would be insane but cool…I could wear those scarves…;D

I just realised. I should have known Columbia one since I have 3 quite unrelated mailings from them. The Ivies seem to love the colour white. O.o Perhaps in more ways than one…I’ll stop posting potentially racially charged comments now :D.

I visited a university today that has almost the same school colours as NYU (purple and white)…actually, if you take away the Y from NYU you’d get the abbreviation for the school I visited.

@Arielle & Erin, sadly that’s the average cost at many top tier schools. Which I cannot afford…! I’m sure fin. aid, scholarships, and such will help somehow but the costs are a bit overwhelming. O_O

    Crystal I can’t believe I did that well…LOL! :cute:
Good luck and I really hope you get into the university you have set your sights on (and a big scholarship to boot!)

  13. TBQ says:

You want to go to an American college? Why? :dead:

Just kidding, I go to one. I’m sure you’ll get into one of them; they’re all good choices. And you got D1 Sports powerhouses in UCLA and Stanford.

I heard that the Ivy League is starting to do tuitions waivers as well, so best of luck to you!

  14. Leslie says:

    Hi Crystal,
I never really realized how similar and dull University colours are. Actually its interesting, UBC and UCB are almost the same colours switched around with switched letters to match.

=) Glad you like my dog, if you catch me at the right time I might give her to you.

  15. Ashley says:

    Wow! You’re smart! :cute:
I wish I could go to NYU. I know I won’t though. Mega $$$ and I’m probably not smart enough to get in. :grr: :stress:
