SAT Scores are Online

Bloody hell… my total from the October testing actually went down compared to the May one.
Combined total
Critical Reading: 700
Math: 800
Writing: 760
Total: 2260
The total score went up by 40 from the last test (yay for perfect on math… the first time with a 770 was a disgrace). I studied SO hard for reading, and yet it only went up by 10 point. Everyone I know bombed Writing this second time…. ahhhhhh. My boyfriend got a lower score than me in the October testing but managed to land a combined score of 2340. He just HAD to check it in front of me this smorning *grrr* ah well, at least he’s Yale-bound, I’m happy for him. He said he didn’t deserve his high 770 in CR and I didn’t deserve my 700 because I studied so much more than him. Guys somehow always managed to pull of a higher score with less studying AKSDFJDKJ.
The Early Decision deadline for the University of Pennsylvania is less than a week away. Oh god, I still have two one-page essays to write, so stressed out! I just got my 4000 word Extended Essay out of way today (Supervisor said she liked it, yay!) I often wonder what I’m doing applying there with such low SAT and IB scores.

congratulations on the SAT score! 2260 is absolutely phenomenal! i’m sure UPenn wouldn’t consider it shabby at all. there are a good number of ivy league students who didn’t get perfect SAT scores (although, they were definitely close). besides, the essay is more important. most applicants are identical when it comes to the quantitative stuff (test scores, GPAs) anyway.
Don’t you hate the fact that there is always that one section on a standardised test that messes up your score somehow? What is really annoying is that the majority of the questions on the SAT are really not that difficult to answer, they are just a little tricky sometimes (like in the wording of the questions).
And about guys somehow managing to pull of a higher score with less studying…it should work for us girls, also. (Or is it “we girls”? Hmm, that “it” seems ambiguous…Ugh grammar.) I never actually spend that much time studying, but still do well on tests somehow.
I think it depends on how you remember information and how you take notes to be self-efficacious in regard to the way you remember things.
Speaking of math, at least you scored really well on that section. And you’re in HL Math (!) I must bow down to your math powerz as I’m just a lowly SL Math person. lol
You’ll feel great when it is all over and you’re off to college though, trust me! But I know how you feel, I wasn’t sure I’d make it through my senior year without having a nervous break down.
I don’t know much about the SAT’s because I went to school in the midwest so we all took the ACT. Luckily, the ACT + Writing is accepted almost everywhere now, so I was able to apply out-of-state without having to actually take the SAT. My math score was my worst out of all of them…but math is my worst subject.
Is the SAT out of 2400? If so, I’d say your score is pretty fantastic!
Congratulations on your SAT scores
Lol we don’t have SATs here so I’m not familiar with it, but you score looks good
I completely don’t understand what that means (We don’t have SATS thank god) so I’m just going to give you encouraging pat on the back.
*Pats Back*
Congrats on your score! That’s really good
Good luck getting into the college!
You did very well! Well, reading could have been better lol. Did you have personal interviews with any of the schools you’re applying to? That can help SO much!
that’s terrible that you got such a low score in CR! It must’ve been so hard, because you scored well everywhere else. Don’t be ashamed, you tried as hard as you could. The studying shows it.
I’m sure you’ll get accepted in your school!
Umm, I’m just glad I was educated in Ontario, Canada… because we’re not required to do SATS to get into college/university.
…*stare*…Most schools superscore anyway.
I showed up late for this entry because I was too busy putting together my EA stuff to go through the 141 new things in my feed reader, but now that I’m here, I’m going to open my big mouth.
If you’re not a rabid CCer, then I’m shocked. Those are 95th+ percentile scores, and you’re disappointed? A 700 on on section of the SAT is not the end of the world.
I’m sorry, but I’m just bothered when I see posts like this — they don’t usually happen in blogging, but I see them on CC all the time and it feels like the person is just flaunting a false insecurity so they can get more pats on the back. You may feel like a 700 is not up to your caliber, but the fact of the matter is that it’s well above average — and how can you even dare say that you have “poor” scores when you get a perfect score on one section? Even your “disgraceful” 770 blew my 730 out of the water. Quite frankly, it feels like you’re just flaunting it in everybody else’s face. 2260 the 99th percentile. This means you are better than 99 out of every 100 people. If you think you’re bad, how does that reflect on your opinion of the other 99?
This isn’t meant to be a condemnation of you, but rather the college testing industry in general as well as the attitude generated by it in conjunction with elite colleges. Why are people so focused on the numbers? Isn’t it more about having the capacity and desire to learn?
If a college is going to judge you solely upon the scores you got on a test rather than evaluate you holistically as a person, then it seems to me that it’s a college not worth going to at all.
Heh. Bad word choice: “scored” rather than “are” would be more appropriate after the part where I forgot the word “is.”
Stupid boys who get good grades without trying. Or maybe they ARE trying but they want it to seem effortless! Grrr…
It’s cool that you are in IB because I may be going to an IB school next year (because I’m in 8th) so how do you like it?
I know I am a little late to comment on this, but I want to say congrats on those scores! They are absolutely amazing, and I am sure you can even aim at Ivy league if you want. U Penn sounds really exciting too, if you don’t write a crappy essay and your grades are good, you’re in, I don’t think that the SAT scores will downgrade you at all. 800 in math is godlike. lol.
