On the phone a few days ago…
Me: I’M GOING SHOPPING!
Mum: Sure have fun.
Me: ALSO GOING OUT FOR DINNER!
Mum: Sounds good.
Me: CAN I GET A LAPTOP?
Mum: Yea okay. Call your dad.
Me: *jump up and down*
Ladies and gentleman, how does one convince one’s strict mother the necessity for the above three things - shopping, food, and laptop? Simple, one precedes the conversation with this.
Mum: Hello?
Me: GUESS WHAT?! I GOT INTO UCLA! MY FIRST UNIV ACCEPTANCE WOOOOOOT!!
The end. Go Bruins. Can’t afford it so probably not going there but oh well XD.

At first I was reading the first conversation, and I thinking ‘wtf is the relevance of this?’. I had to re-read the conversation 3 times, before I finally gave up and continued reading. lol

Congrats!!! And that conversation was pretty interesting. ^^ I wish I could’ve gotten my laptop that easily (then I wouldn’t have BOUGHT mine, lol). I hope you’ll be able to go to the university you want to go to, and hopefully you can afford it, too!
Congratulations !!! Hahaha, I like your way of negotiating. Unfortunately my mother goes the other way around. When I got my HDTV it went like… (phonecall)
Mom: “Do you still want a TV ?”
Me: “Sure, but … not right now.”
Mom: “Your dad and I are standing infront of a nice TV … for a good price.”
Me: “Uhh ok…”
Mom: “So get dressed and we’ll pick you up and you can take a look at it…”
At the store…
Me: “It’s nice.. but it’s still expensive and I don’t really need it.”
Mom: “We will get it now or never.”
Me: “Uhh uhhh ok ok - I’ll take it!”
Me walks out of store with big HDTV =___= ugyuuu ~
