It’s true, sometimes we all need a little simplicity in our lives. But where to draw the line in web designing? Meet the next epidemic sweeping across Internetdom. The Internet Epidemic, Site Types and How to Recognize Them (A Field Guide).
Epidemic: Minimalisteosis
Symptoms
- Just a blog… what do you mean you want to see the ABOUT page?!
- White space is gold

- Stop waiting for it to load, that’s all there is
- Text and colours, what more do you want?
- Grey texts, sizes vary

- Header and footer tend to extend all the way across the page (Never fear, scientists are working on a cure to shrink this “100%” background expansion!)
- Nice floral brushes
Warning signs: the question that pops into your head is “where did the layout go?” Use of tabs! Icons from famfamfam! Clever taglines! Glossy favicons! What is the world coming to?!

Treatments: Field trips to colour insanitarium, where teen-bopperitis victims are kept locked up to prevent them from inadvertendly blinding the civilized world.

Contagious level: Usually contracted after giving up after too many WP div screwups
Citations, see these symptoms in their natural habitats: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (Last one not actually here, but I love the design too much)
Popularity: 2%
I'm Crystal, a Canadian who thinks she can take on the world simply by getting up each morning. They call me the caffeinated IBer wandering on the Internet.

I think it kinda nifty I made your ‘list’. Thanks muchly for some traffic you drove my way.
Does “less is more” the best,I wonder?
Simplicity is beauty. You find it gross, I find it good.
“You find it gross”
Actually, I think Ubiquitous falls into this category, at least 60% of it. Remember the saying a few years ago, “the best thing that happened to web design was white space”.
“Stop waiting for it to load, that’s all there is ” haha, I can think of a few instances where I’ve waited for a page to load and that’s all there was!

XD I love that.
I’ve survived all these epidemics. My first non-bopperitis layout was a victim of minimalisteosis.
